HAPCO (Hellenic Association of Professional Congress Organizers),
from its foundation in 1996 to this day, continues its mission
dynamically, with the aim to represent professional congress organizers
as well as companies offering a broad range of services and products
relevant to the congress market. Over the years, HAPCO, with the
essential contribution of its members, has developed into one of the
principal institutions in the Greek tourism sector and has been
acknowledged as the official partner of the Greek State on issues
relating to the meetings industry.
HAPCO focuses its endeavours on shaping an appealing image for the
Greek congress industry and leading its continuous improvement, in
order to enhance Greece’s popularity as a coveted destination for the
hosting of national and international congresses. By exploiting the
varied experience of its members, monitoring their adherence to quality
specifications and creating conditions of growth within the congress
market, HAPCO enhances its presence in a powerful way. Its primary
objectives are the shaping of a healthy congress culture on a national
level and the maintenance of the organization s own competitive profile,
for the benefit of both its members and the Greek tourism industry in its
entirety.
HAPCO’s 108 members, which stand out for their dynamic involvement
in the industry, come from diverse backgrounds related to congress
tourism. They include PCOs, Conference Centres, Convention Centres
and Resort Hotels, Hotels with Conference Facilities, Audiovisual
Companies, Interpreting Companies, Catering Companies, Booth
Design & Construction, Publication Companies, Business Consultants,
Public Relations and Advertising Companies, Software Development
Companies, VIP Transport Companies, Airlines, Cruise Companies and
Universities. Thanks to their specialization, know-how and considerable
experience, they ensure that the country’s tourism needs can be fully
covered, carrying their business activities with professionalism and
according to high quality standards.
The Hellenic Association of Professional Congress Organizers is
already in its 15th year and it is growing strong with more members
and even more activities and participation in international Exhibitions.
HAPCO’s greatest vision is to promote Greece as a leading conference
destination worldwide. For this reason, the Association cooperates
closely with the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, the Greek National
Tourism Organization and its offices worldwide, the TCVB (Thessaloniki
Convention & Visitors Bureau) and the ACB (Athens Convention
Bureau), contributing to the joint effort of the authorities and the
professionals, in favour of further development of congress tourism in
Greece.
